Mary the Night Nurse has been a stripper and a sex worker since 2005.

She is a mother of four. Her body is her office.

Mary and her children face discrimination every day because of her job.

Her clients, she says are the same people who talk down to her in public, degrade her and accuse her of having loose morals.

Today we woke up!

We had a peaceful election yesterday and today we woke up to a second day of beautiful weather. It has been extremely cold this past week, but the sun was out yesterday, and today as well.

There have been great reports coming in on uchaguzi, which is a technology platform that allows citizens and civil society to monitor and report incidences around the electoral process.

There have also been lots of tweets about the process using #uchaguzi or #kenyadecides

Today we woke up to hopefulness of stability as we await the 2012 elections. We woke up to a promise of true democracy and hope of patriotism, which surpasses all ethnic boundaries.

On the day of the 2010 Kenya referendum, we went to the Ghetto RADIO 89.5 FM studio in Ngara and spent some time with some of the crew.

Ghetto Radio show are presented in Sheng. The FM station resonates well with many urban youth and has been using this unique position to rally Kenyan youth towards a peaceful referendum.

Rhoda is a vegetable vendor at Kenyatta market. She is excited to have been part of the referendum process and is positive that Kenya will prosper no matter the outcome of the vote is.
